Pros

The working environment is friendly, and also it is helpful whenever you need help. The office offer flexible working hours to achieve work-life balance.

Cons

It is a great company but in the wrong industry. Given the up and down of the oil industry, NOV finds it has no exception to follow the cycle. So if you are looking for a stable job for your family, maybe you want to thinks twice before applying the company

Pros

(it depends on your facility. NOV has numerous facilities across Houston). I garnered necessary skills to succeed in any Supply Chain role - in any industry. The work culture and environment here is very laid back providing the right amount of family/school-work/life balance. Great benefits, 3 weeks vacation and friendly atmosphere. Some of these employees seem too comfortable with the status quo of internal operations but the company is actively seeking young, fresh talent. Internal transfer to other opportunities is encouraged though most positions are unannounced unless posted on website.

Cons

Lower-end salary scale that creates high employee turnover. Not a high performing culture around here - you need to motivate yourself to develop necessary skills. No one pushes you hard except to get work done. Easy to be unnoticed. Lots of "cliques" in management - that's the only way to rise through the ranks. Constant power tussle explains why "undegreed" seasoned employees are mostly insecure ... simply put! Advice to those with degrees: Moving from the shop (welder, machinist) to corporate is nearly impossible. I've witnessed people get stuck in these places. Due to recent economic downturn, layoffs can be brutal.
