Pros

Good benefits and most people are great to work with and supportive.

Cons

The climate has changed drastically over the past nine years and not for good. Current upper level leadership lacks vision casting and communication. Way more corporate than when I started.

Pros

Solid mechanical engineering experience with a top tier equipment manufacturer for drilling industry. Experience in the industry is valued since management realizes fresh grads will take several years to become productive and even more to understand workings of the various product lines.

Cons

Has grown big and getting bigger so bureaucracy is setting in. Company has a priority to adopt latest software for managing projects time and costs and what they chose tends to be clutzy and time consuming rather than time saving since objective tends to be summary reports to management. In 2015, business is slowing and layoffs loom across the board.
