Pros

Nice super friendly team members, minus HR

Cons

Wanted to post up review to point out and call out the HR Department....the countless stories about how rude HR department representatives are around here the last few years is crazy and pretty sad, including my own negative experience with them. I won't and can't say that every single member of the HR team at NSF is rude and unprofessional, but I sadly have been hearing a story at least once a month from other current and former co workers about how negative their experiences have been with them. From those who were affected by the transformation and were 'exited' super unprofessionally with literally ONE DAY NOTICE of receiving that they were no longer with the company and told to log off, when in prior job experiences, only those who broke policy or did something EXTREMELY wrong were treated as such. To those still currently with the company who have and STILL continue to have negative experiences with their HR reps...super sad and frustrating stories I've heard of super unprofessional behavior when reporting things like potential discrimination & bias, unprofessional/bullying supervisors, and taking PTO time for things like a DEATH IN THE FAMILY and being talked to like children/non-adults when requesting :( Essentially the biggest problem is HOW DO YOU REPORT HR IF HR IS THE ACTUAL PROBLEM?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Seriously....not a joke :( NSF is a really nice well intended organization...but between all of the above and on top of that also the INSANE disparities in pay amongst roles here is crazy...for "world class global organization" this place in terms of HR reminds me more of a place that needs help on that show "Kitchen Nightmares"...silly metaphor but is actually dead on. This issue needs to be fixed and addressed ASAP...and praying that no one ends up reading this review (posted on May 2021) like in DECEMBER of this year and then 'wants to make nice' for 2022....change needs to happen NOW.

Pros

Remote work...until the company has decided to backtrack on it's word yet once again. Great mission, too bad the company itself doesn't adhere to it.

Cons

Where do we start: - Low tiered pay - Can't trust a single thing SLT or the Board says as they backtrack it - HR (can't emphasize how useless HR is) - Turnover beyond turnover because of a restructure ("Transformation") - Man-made management systems that only work about 60% of the time Now they brought in Pedro who is reneging on some of the perks that the company was trying to give to employees. Before the end of the year it was made well aware that if you wished to stay remote, you can stay remote. Now that Pedro has come into the company, he has taken that choice away and now a "team of individuals" will decide if you can or not. Sounds something like how transformation went. This ties into not being able to trust a single word any upper management tells you. They are disillusioned.

Toxic culture - please avoid working here!

Pros

- Prior to our company's transformation helped me grow in my career quite a bit. - Some co-workers are kind, thoughtful and supportive - After months of delay did get promoted to a normal role - Used to be a nice culture

Cons

Definitely more cons than pros! - Toxic culture - can't emphasize it enough! The organization has undergone what they call the NSF transformation which literally meant blowing up the whole organization and starting it from almost scrap - I was one of the "lucky" ones that didn't get let go during all this chaos - New people were brought in and they continuously critique the former employees (note: we actually understand the business while they don't), are changing all the systems, and are expecting us to change at the lightning speed - Lack of trust between new and old employees - New employees get better benefits and salaries while those of us the company didn't fire are told to be quiet and be grateful. When I kindly asked for a raise I was shut down by HR and they told me I didn't deserve it despite my stellar experience
