Pros
The hours are flexible and the work is somewhat unstructured. Your boss does not control all of your time if you are an engineer. At one point, independent work on patentable ideas was encouraged. The work can be challenging, with interesting projects, if you are so lucky as to get one.
Cons
The benefits and pay are below average. If your group vice president does not like you or your work, you will be fired, rather than offered the opportunity to improve. There is no training or career path development. If you are not fired, you will be stuck in one job the entire time you are employed there. There are no promotions or growth opportunities. For engineers, the tools are below average and the availability of servers is way below average.
