Potential is there but could do much better

Pros

Chance to work on bleeding-edge technology. Friendly international atmosphere. Market leader in the chosen market segments.

Cons

HR policy means almost every engineer receives the same salary. No chances to earn more through extra effort, etc. Staff turnover extremely low (not only leaving the company but also no internal movements). Promotion prospects non-existent. If you are happy with a 9-5 job and are not ambitious then this is probably the company for you. You could say that NXP is a fur-lined rut - comfortable, one-track, difficult to get yourself out of. Only the CEO and the Business Unit managers are worth a damn: the rest of upper-management are on an ego-trip and quite useless. Mid-level management came up decades ago as expert engineers and lack man-management skills.
