Pros

Some of the people who work here are fantastic people and makes working here slightly tolerable. It's a shame the owners don't appreciate them.

Cons

The owners and their sons are horrible, entitled and despicable people. They treat hard working employees with extreme disrespect, berating them constantly and playing 'gotcha' so they have an excuse to rant. They seem to get pleasure out of it. This company received millions in tax breaks from the local and federal government over the last few years and unlike every other large company in the area, the owners did not pass a penny of this onto their employees. They did, however, immediately decide to outsource work overseas and then expected their employees to be happy about it. When Covid hit they showed their true colors- they immediately furloughed employees here but kept the outsource company busy. 401k contributions stopped also. They have zero loyalty to the people who work so hard for their paycheck. They say they comply with CDC guidelines but they do not. Warehouse workers routinely do not wear masks and there have been multiple Covid outbreaks both in their factory and offices .Which by the way they routinely cover up and do not inform employees that may have been exposed. Their motive seems to be to do the minimum necessary to keep from being sued, not the health and safety of their workers. The only upside of the pandemic has been the owners finally provide paper towels for the bathroom. They are so cheap that before this employees had to bring their own !! The culture is so dysfunctional. Some people are held to impossible standards and set up to fail, yet others have incompetence rewarded . Benefits are extremely expensive, paid holidays are rare indeed. You get 2 weeks vacation no matter if you work her 1 year or 10 years. Morale is horribly low among the people who work the hardest because there is a total lack of appreciation shown by the owners.

Pros

There are some really nice people that work here. It’s a short commute for me.

Cons

For the size of the company, it’s run so poorly. The benefits package is so horrible you’d probably be better of without it. Holidays and PTO days are the absolute bare minimum, and you are made to feel guilty for taking time off. What company doesn’t offer paid bereavement leave? This one. Parking is horrible, pay is not up to standard for the work and effort we put in, and a lot of upper management has no problem berating any employee for any reason. Energy in the offices is very negative and heavy. Wish I could walk through and see smiles and excitement instead of the misery and fright I see every day.

Pros

The people who work here are really nice and you get free stuff sometimes but that's as far as is goes.

Cons

Horrible benefits - why work somewhere for 10 plus years and still only get 2 weeks of vacation?! Charge you an arm and a leg for health insurance Highly dysfunctional keeps buying other companies but nothing makes sense No company culture AT ALL No flexibility HR is unhelpful and makes no changes because the family who owns it doesn't care to Seen too many employees be treated with disrespect/be put in dangerous situations

Thank you for your feedback- we continuously seek to improve! Nassau Candy’s philosophy has been to allocate the largest share of compensation dollars to base salary. Our base salaries are consistently at the top of the range in our region. Although our cost shares for benefits receive less funding, the plans are comprehensive with top of the line networks. We consider all input as we design and develop our compensation plan for upcoming years. Nassau Candy is a stable and growing company which offers tremendous growth potential to all of our employees. We hope this continues to attract and retain candidates in all age groups
