Pros

Great Salary and Bonus potential. Transparent Management Upper mobility Best in class product

Cons

Not much except it still has that start up feel - things constantly evolving and you have to be able to adapt to change constantly.

Natera = Theranos (in my opinion)

Pros

Genetics is a hot industry, and Natera positions itself to be on the cutting edge of science. The company attracts the best and the brightest, and as a hiring manager, this was the biggest benefit. The company also offers great perks, including catered lunches, office snacks and an on-site gym.

Cons

In my opinion, Natera has a toxic culture. I won't pretend to understand what causes it or keeps it going. All I can say is that I felt this unsettling, gnawing pulse during most of my time there. In my experience -- after my honeymoon -- I had internal struggles. I desperately wanted to leave, but I also desperately wanted to stay, to improve things and make an impact. The company has a very distinct lure about it, and, I believe, even those within its walls hold on to this hope that the culture is merely a product of "growing too fast" or "being on the cutting edge," and it will turn around soon. In my opinion, Natera is akin to Theranos. To me, it seems to be a healthcare company run by those without a lot of prior healthcare experience. I truly hope the company doesn't have the same outcome as Theranos.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry you had a bad experience and I recognize that you are a former employee but unfortunately, you didn't share your position or length of time at Natera. We recognize that there are some areas within our organization need improvement and of course, that can be said of any organization or individual for that matter. We also understand that we are the sum of all of our parts. Some parts are very satisfied while others struggle to address or resolve their immediate issues that impede their progress and create dissatisfaction in their work environment. Our HR team has completed our formal employee engagement survey to better address and resolve employee's issues to help maintain a collaborative, committed, happy workforce. We are actively working with executive and department levels to create action plans that address these issues.
