Pros

Engineers are given a lot of control/autonomy with their projects - great for people who want to drive projects and ideas, work on hard problems. Great access to the very latest IC technology. Lots of opportunity for customer interaction.

Cons

High profile projects can become bogged down due to too many cooks in the kitchen. Broad requirements can have a similar effect.

1. Good work life balance. Lesser pressure 2. Bosses are more forgiving 3. Slower pace environment 4. Good exposure as job rotation is very common

Cons

1. Lower salary. Management keep on saying that salary is not important. 2. No clear career path development 3. Increment or pay raise is considered as lower than market rate

Pros

A youthful company with large growth and opportunities in a city that is good to start a career in. The vision of the company is unique and the upper management understands the need to invest in people (especially R&D). They have never had a layoff in all 31 years of the companies history.

Cons

The pay is lower than most other tech companies. I estimate about 5-15%. That comes from NI taking advantage of the great location and low cost of living. Also it is easy to become jaded after a few years because you forget how bad other companies can be.
