Pros

Great culture, challenging meaningful work, great people, fun young and active employees, management is helpful and mindful to help develop individuals not just as employees but as engineers with career paths.

Cons

The pay is not competitive compared to peers-in-industry. The company has grown to the size where individual contributions are not amply rewarded, and there is little to no incentive to perform unless you are in sales. Raises are scarce as the company is continually "cautiously optimistic" with projections and budget allowances. To get paid here, you have to have an impressive resume (notable industry experience) and know how to negotiate with your manager. NI makes for a great first and third job.

Too much politics

Pros

Very friendly environment, manager wants to see you succeed and great facilities. You get to choose your own path and work on things that are most interesting to you.

Cons

There has been a lack of clear direction for some time now. Pay is well below market average and it feels like the officers are willing to tell us whatever they think we want to hear.

Pros

Coworkers are great because the groups are made with people of similar age and of course interest in engineering.

Cons

Zero career path! No growth potential after a few years and salary is not competitive. The NI Way will only get you so far. Smart people (yes, as a con) think they know everything and don't look at industry standards for processes (we know better than the rest mentality). Since results aren't met, management changes things up, but again to their point of view. Not consulting with people that have external experience and sometimes without a thought out plan. Field sales are pretty much on their own to make quota. Managers are more interested in metrics right now.
