Pros

Gave me alot of good job experience in sales. I met some very nice people and loved my co-workers. Learned good phone techniques for sales, learned oracle databases for our CRM.

Cons

Pay is crap, they are not a flexible work place, you live and die by the clock. I doubled my salary by going elsewhere.. oh and if you are a non-engineer forget about ever being promoted

Pros

Work life balanced, usually don't need to work overtime. It's nice to start engineer career in NI with nice salary in China

Cons

Salary in NI Austin is quite below average, so the high cost for Shanghai engineer makes it less competitive, Austin doesn't take care of Shanghai branch so much, rubbish projects come to Shanghai. Practically NI is a traditional IT company, who provides test equipment and engineers working in test industry are hard to find another competitive employer especially after years of test working experience. Poor salary raise each year makes capable senior engineer leave. Poor management like state-owned company.
