Dreadful management in Bengaluru

Pros

Less work. Once upon a time they would send people to Austin. Peers were generally smart and good company. If you are thick skinned, have no ambition and want easy money this place can be considered.

Cons

Less Pay, no growth, Self-Obsessed managers. Some managers are not fit for any job, forget taking lead management roles as they are highly unprofessional and have anger issues. Some managers are accidentally hired or pushed towards management because of lack of technical acumen. Those managers contribution is almost nil and is rotting this branch inside out. Austin senior leadership is having similar issues and hence the company is also going down. In the name of autonomy some people have ganged up at the top of the chain and hardly produce any fruitful output but claim most of the dwindling perks allocated for high performance. Company's revenue is stagnated from past 10 years and is hovering around 1 to 1.4 billion. Company has no vision especially for Bangalore branch. Teams are created/shut randomly to serve random needs and employees are shuffled across the teams. That is one of the reasons why you would not find any decent senior engineer left in the company. If you are fresher or planning to join the company on death bed, think twice. You will mostly work on native technologies that are of no use outside the company. Less learning. Hikes and Promotions are also random. Bonuses formula is such that total bonus received in 5 years will be less than 1 bonus of other companies. No RSUs. Only sub-groups in RF are doing good. Every other group in NI Bangalore is struggling. They are not even able to retain the admins and HRs forget the senior technical staff of good caliber.

Pros

Not much these days...unless you like drinking lots of Kool-Aid.

Cons

As the margins shrink and the stock price drops, the internal rhetoric spikes.
