Pros

Ownership of challenging project, generous knowledge sharing among employees, flexible working hours and place where you can wear comfortably including shorts and sandals top up with a nice cool beer that makes you feels like home.

Cons

Average compensation and benefit. Local management is feedback driven upon circumstances observed rather than self-driven.

Pros

A youthful company with large growth and opportunities in a city that is good to start a career in. The vision of the company is unique and the upper management understands the need to invest in people (especially R&D). They have never had a layoff in all 31 years of the companies history.

Cons

The pay is lower than most other tech companies. I estimate about 5-15%. That comes from NI taking advantage of the great location and low cost of living. Also it is easy to become jaded after a few years because you forget how bad other companies can be.

Pros

I've had great management through multiple positions. National Instruments has also been very good about providing above average support for both my professional and personal development.

Cons

I haven't had any bad experiencing with National Instruments thus far and, from the view of the organization as a whole, I doubt that I will in the near future either.
