Pros

great "soft landing" into working environment for college grads, company training is really good, free software certification exams, tries real hard to take care of employees

Cons

low pay, not a lot of moving around options from applications engineering. You rarely get what you want, and are forced to go where there is space. The skills learned during AE are much more valuable elsewhere.

Pros

I've made some of my best friends at NI. Lots of good people!

Cons

I never had a great manager. I've had a handful of mediocre managers and the majority have been bad. The senior management doesn't seem to really be wise in their leadership or forthcoming to the employees. Also the leadership has more of a "you serve me" mentality rather than a real attitude of "you work with me". The compensation is laughable.
