Pros

Good work/life balance, job security, great benefits.

Cons

All these pertain to IT: Very disorganized in most aspects, unclear career paths, managers play favorites, enormous amounts of pointless meetings, very slow path to getting promoted (which kills motivation), very lacking in training initiatives, discord amongst teams, too many projects get drawn out then eventually canceled. This is the wrong place for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Pros

This community is absoluetly incredible. NI is full of kind, wonderful people always happy to help one another and quality work.

Cons

Leadership doesn't keep up with competitive pay. They are out of touch to the struggles of their people. There is a lot of trust lost at the company in general in the last few years. Like many tech companies, layoffs are now "normal". I would have recommended NI to anyone for years, but now it feels like a sinking ship.

Pros

- The pay is not as bad as other reviews indicate. You can do better elsewhere, but you can also do a lot worse. - The engineers are really smart. - The work is generally interesting.

Cons

- Senior leadership is running the company into the ground. They alienated the broad base while chasing big customers. It seemed to be working for a year or two, but it’s crashing down now. - Due to the aforementioned leadership, layoffs are always around the corner. - They were acquired be Emerson, which is an uninspiring company. - NI’s customers also aren’t very inspiring. Test is a boring industry, despite NI trying to convince you otherwise.
