      Pros

      The National Parks are amazing and working with employees who loved what they are doing and willing to help others made a great place to work.

      Cons

      The location where I worked was in the French Quarter and the parking was expensive with no free parking or assistance with paying for parking.

      Great people. Get to be outside in the most beautiful parts of the world (or next to a parking lot with a fantastic view). Senior Management is excellent at every park I've been too, and they are always dedicated to the purpose of NPS.

      Cons

      There are not as many advancement opportunities as other departments (Forest Service, BLM, etc.) The National Parks are very strict in protecting the environment. You will have to continually "educate" the public to stay on trails, leave rocks and plants alone, and pick up their mess. The first goal is to protect the park, not customer service - which takes a mental transition but is refreshing to find a group so dedicated to nature.
