Pros

The park service is awesome in that you have a great mix of people, they usually love their job, you get to see/be in cool places. I also appreciate that the salary is competitive, and they are definitely not taking advantage of employees. Supervisors are upfront about the government funding situation, and try to be as helpful as they can in helping you land more permanent employment.

Cons

With recent government funding issues, permanent jobs are nearly impossible to get, most jobs are seasonal or for a limited term, and the paperwork is relatively horrendous.
