Pros

Fun, work outdoors, pay is decent if you're starting off. Cheap housing. You can stay in shape by hiking a lot.

Cons

Slow career advancement. Difficult to make jump from seasonal to permanent. Usually living in rural areas far from supermarkets and services.

Pros

Everyone is friendly in the resource management side. Work is fun and it brings cool people from all over. Being in proximity to a beautiful place is such a privilege. Its a great place to gain experience and make connections.

Cons

Proper notice (2 weeks) for termination of seasonal employees is not given. Bureaucracy is very prevalent. Mistreatment of Native Americans in present day is a WELL known fact. They will make sure you know that you are easily replaceable.

Cons

Very Difficult to Obtain a Permanent Position, Ability to Carry Out Mission Becoming Harder Because of Politics, Bureaucracy, and Lack of Funding, Generally Need to Move to a New Location to Move Up (a Job With More Responsibility or More Pay), Difficult for Professional Spouse or Partner to Find Meaningful Work Because Many NPS Jobs Are in Remote Locations
