Horrible pay

Pros

Impactful work/missions and benefits are decent.

Cons

Starting salary is good, after that the promotion process is an absolute joke. If you're not an expert at selling yourself on paper you can plan on being stuck in grade for years on end, with no clear way to advance.

Good and Bad

Pros

Good job security and difficult to be let go if you conform. Work is incredibly easy, lots of downtime. Duncan and Starbucks lines can be long but it's nice to have on-site. Parking is bad but you get a good workout with all the walking.

Cons

Here is my main issue, it's perfectly okay to get wasted drunk everyday after work. But if you consume medical marijuana after work for ptsd or depression your deemed untrustworthy, irresponsible and a threat to national security. Seems a little ridiculous since its legal here in MD and majority of states. But because it's a federal agency medical marijuana is considered to be at the same level as heroin. I have been tested 7 times in 5 years. Snowden didnt smoke a bunch of weed and then up and decided to leak secrets. Stop being so closed minded on medical marijuana. Lastly, they blocked Netflix and Hulu on the unclass which was a bummer. I could do my work while listening to a good movie which made time go by fast. We can go to streamit on our computers to watch some TV channels but they are mostly news. Add HBO to streamit.

Pros

Great mission, great coworkers, awesome vacation, sick time, and holidays, tons of administrative leave, very flexible schedule, 40-hour work week

Cons

Promotions are based on time on job, not merit. Many people there are inefficient with their time. Too many layers of management. Can't fire bad workers. Management steals credit for your success.
