Pros

My co-workers were great, the job was easy and manageable, and they had a great opportunity to obtain bonuses every month. As a technician I was tasked with pre-testing patients within each 15 min timeslot, and for the most part it was easy. But every now and then you just get a patient that won't let you continue b/c they talk, or wiggle, or can't keep their eyes open. And that wouldn't be bad if it weren't for the manager scolding you every time you take 16min for a pretest. My manager never could understand that it's not entirely up to me.

Cons

My supervisor was very icy hot, she would be a stern boss one minute and your best friend the next. It made working there very hard because you never knew what level of hostility your interaction was going to be.

Pros

(My experience bad and good) I worked for the company for 6 years, moving myself up from Dr. Tech to sales & third key then lastly eyeglass manager, I worked for 2 different divisions. Neither one is great, most stores I worked at were busy to the point where I couldn’t even step out to use the restroom or take 10 min breaks. Short staffing was always a problem (all around), the pay is low, including commission (it was a joke) the work hours sucked and there was times when my hours would drop to 31, for periods at time. The only benefit was that I knew if I ever really needed a day off, I could talk to the manager about getting it off. However, that was only at certain locations because some managers didn’t care, which sucked since I was always hard working, did more than I was asked to, jumped in to solve problems and when I was rejected on days I needed off, it was upsetting. At some point when working as a third key, I wanted to move up to ASM in the same division, the area manger stringed me along, giving me hope that she would promote me. I would take the roll of an ASM and assume the responsibilities, they wound up bringing someone else in to become the ASM then was told I would get trained for it so the next time I’d be fully ready, I was fooled. I did as they said, even moved location to be closer to the area manager (who’d be training me) months pass, nothing changes, was never promoted and eventually moved division where I found a location who’d hire me as their eyeglass manager. I feel that I worked very hard to toyed with, the way they did. To the point where when I was leaving the area manager said in a very condescending attitude that if they other division wanted me, they’d call me to interview, even emphasized “IF” as if she was trying to make me feel like I wasn’t good enough for them to want to interview me. She was a mess, she even took the time to bad mouth me to the manager who hired me and said to be careful and with me, when all I ever did was work for them and with them. The audacity of that lady.

Cons

Pay, management, hours, and toxic
