Pros
You can move up quickly into management, there’s different ways you can get certified ABO or tech certifications. They do give you a raise with them. Dental benefits are amazing. Free glasses once a year and 50% off employee discount on anything for yourself all the time within 30 days of start and for family once a year.
Cons
Pay is the worst in this field compared to competitors. Originally it was $11 and they have raised it to $13. Management should only be promoted from within but that wasn’t the case for a while and there is not enough training or training assistance for new employees nor General Managers. If the company invested in trainers or a better system to help management with training there would be much more success in the stores and customer service. Worst turnover rates and really low retention of current staff. There’s no open door policy or support. It was more of here’s 2 weeks worth of training and that’s it that’s all you get. There’s no consistency in stores, every store operates differently and it should not be like that there should be stricter set rules of operations with management that is trained for 90 days on every position in the stores, just as you would train each position individually. There is too much reliance and leaning towards associates who have no title or pay to handle operations like a manager. There really isn’t much growth after General Manager, unless you’re willing to move districts or even state to be a District Manager.
