Pros

Nationally known leader in conservation with robust network of affiliates and partner organizations, and a leader in critical environmental/conservation campaigns and advocacy efforts. Trusted and strong leader on wildlife policy.

Cons

A convoluted, top-heavy bureaucracy restricts employee growth, and many managers view their direct reports' success as a threat to their position that should be culled rather than an asset to the organization that should be recognized. Favoritism is rampant; several managers have even influenced the hiring process to advance personal friends for roles despite their qualifications. Salary is far below industry standard (they'll tell you otherwise, but it's objectively false), and management frequently implements "hiring freezes" or "fiscal responsibility measures" but provides exemptions for their preferred employees for promotions, travel, and other expenses.
