      (1) Career growth oppurtunities (2) Good managament and employee relationships and communication (3) Strong financial background even in a weaker economy (job stability)

      Flexible, nice work environment, nice plants.

      Poor upper and middle management, no accountability for management, lack of promotional opportunities, lack of movement within the organization, no incentive (compensation) for exceptional work.

      A nice place to be - emphasis on nice

      Pros

      Unlike many places, senior management here are genuinely nice people. Nice people really do finish first here. There is a big coaching and feedback culture here. Nationwide has a sterling reputation in Central Ohio due to its generosity to various charities. You will be expected to contribute to various charitable campaigns (particularly United Way, which is a really big deal). But this is a good thing. You will see a lot of people who wear Nationwide logo shirts out in public. People are proud to work here.

      Cons

      The silo mentality is a reality. This is a big company, and it feels like it. Information sharing between departments is nonexistent. Some departments hoard information, but this happens in almost every corporation.
