Pros

The employees are the best part of the company. Nationwide will also work with you when it comes to work/life balance issues.

Cons

Lower pay than competitors What you expect your employees to pay for medical, dental and vision insurance per year is a joke.

Pros

Pay can be pretty good. No cold calling. Easy products to sell.

Cons

They will use a simple typo as grounds to not pay you all the commission you have rightfully earned. Call center environment that is micromanaged by upper management that couldn't do the job if their life depended on it. pay scale and job expectations have adopted a habit of changing more than a couple times a year, with little or no warning.

Nationwide was a good company that lost its way

Pros

Good commercials. Other than the advertising campaign I don't really see what they are doing well. Do they want to be an online company? Or agent supported? Your guess is as good as mine.

Cons

Lack of vision. Too much politics. No accountability for messing up. No praise when doing a good job. Losing to allstate and state farm.
