Pros

They were good at working with people who wanted to move up if they were liked by management. If some people sould not reach the goals they were offered a chance to work in another department.

Cons

There was too much 'socialising' between management and their teams. Peopled who were 'friendlier 'got better treatment than others. In the office iwas in , I was excited that they young managers, but that was not good because they were unable to get respect because of immaturity. Also, they did make clear all the expectations of the job(not just commission),by the time an employee was told their performance was already low.

Pros

Some of the nicest people I have ever worked with. Many of whom I would want to know outside the organization.

Cons

Things have not been good here at Nationwide for the past 3 years. New CEO and his team have allowed the company to lose focus at a time when it could have been planting the seeds for success when the economy comes around. Takes FOREVER to get anything approved and then execution invariably falls apart. Slow moving, resistant to change, unwilling to try new things and a long history of sticking with policies and practices that do not work. Senior management (of which I am a part of) does not play well together and the company seems to attract extremely passive aggressive people. There seems to be a willingness to change but I don't see anyone leading the change. People are genuinely nice, but many many many are incompetent and HR—especially the new HR head—hasn't done anything to attract and retain good people.

Pros

Wonderful place for employees. Lots of opportunities other places in NW.

Cons

Not much ability to develop new code projects. Much old software to maintain.
