Pros

Great work/life balance, average pay, the individual people are awesome.

Cons

A bit of a clique-y culture, values the collective over individual needs, it’s very hard to progress in your position and progressive values without considering that the conservative perspective is leading the country. You can feel invisible at times if you’re not in the “in-crowd” or seek to be.

Pros

Great work life balance. Compensation better than other competitors.

Cons

Little growth opportunities. Too many metrics that do not belong in the claims department.

Pros

Pay to work ratio is good

Cons

Tenure is extremely overvalued at the organization. Sometimes people say with great pride that they’ve been at Nationwide over 20 years but it often means they are stuck in their ways and can’t see new opportunities.
