      Job stability Flexibility to move to other jobs in the command if you get burned out Good focus on training and process improvement The shipyard is not good at getting work accomplished, so plenty of opportunity for improvement

      Cons

      Depending on what department you are in, the work can sometimes be less than rewarding. "Old-timers" stuck in their ways Managers promoted quickly and don't really know what they are doing It is frustrating how bad the shipyard is at getting work accomplished

      Pros

      Good pay and benefits. Plenty of overtime available for those that want it; travel is also available for those that want it. Some educational benefits available for programs that further an employee's career at the shipyard. Free bus service to and from work lessens stress associated with traffic and parking.

      Cons

      Facilities are old and in need of repair. Also, process for getting medical procedures completed is lengthy and slow.
