Pros
Reasonable job security. Large work place, large work force, plenty of job opportunities to move around if you don't like your current assignment.
Cons
Heavy into 'good-ol boy' network. Management a bit ossified...willing to ignore and cover up EEO violations. Not always looking for the best, most creative solutions to improve processes. Finding best solution and saving tax payer dollars takes a very low priority. Like the VA or IRS, management can be inept and corrupt - and they will stay in place long after they have moved an employee out who challenges the status quo.
