The people in my group are very pleasant to work with. "Work" (If you work slow and enjoy watching youtube while being paid, this is the place for you) "Engineer" (Implies that you're educated as an engineer and are a professional rule follower) Work has more of a planning focus than a technical focus Engineers are very removed from the production personnel (some people enjoy this) If you don't enjoy your job here there are many other groups to switch into.

Cons

Management is not focused on making more rules rather than getting more work completed. "Work" (Expected to follow management's rules and not do anything else) "Engineer" implies that no technical thought goes into this job. Engineers are very removed from the production personnel which promotes miscommunication.

A beautiful, well equiped laboratory and wonderful staff and management made this place a tremendous joy to work in. Safety and employee well-being were tremendously important, as was celebrating employees milestones and accomplishments.

Cons

Maintaining a rigid work schedule (7:20-16:02, union regulated. Yes, the :02 is not a typo) in a laboratory setting, which is usually characterized with flexibility and openness was a bit annoying. Working around this should not have been as challenging as it was.
