      Pros

      Very interesting field. Job helps protect the health of the community and its natural resources. The people working in this field are incredibly smart and enjoyable to work with.

      Cons

      Challenging work. Environmental regulations can be complex and difficult to explain the immediate benefit of to a workforce that is pressed to support its mission.

      Pros

      Lots of overtime if you want it, you just have to survive getting qualified first. Some supervisors look out for you, and there is a chance to switch work sites. There's also chance to go tdy, but probably be expected to work 12s while you're there, and on the weekends.

      Cons

      Sometimes it feels like you're in a high school environment. Some weekends you get forced overtime and it can be exhausting.

      Pros

      The people in my group are very pleasant to work with. "Work" (If you work slow and enjoy watching youtube while being paid, this is the place for you) "Engineer" (Implies that you're educated as an engineer and are a professional rule follower) Work has more of a planning focus than a technical focus Engineers are very removed from the production personnel (some people enjoy this) If you don't enjoy your job here there are many other groups to switch into.

      Cons

      Management is not focused on making more rules rather than getting more work completed. "Work" (Expected to follow management's rules and not do anything else) "Engineer" implies that no technical thought goes into this job. Engineers are very removed from the production personnel which promotes miscommunication.
