      Job Security, low stress, predictable work life, excellent work/life balance.

      Cons

      99% of getting promoted is tenure. 1% is who you are friends with. Skill and ability are NOT considered at all. Promotions are based on time (how long you have been in current position), so there is no way to get ahead fast even if you are talented.
