      Pros

      The work is rewarding, at times, and the benefits are great. Also since this is DOD, Job security is very good.

      Cons

      Work/life balance could be way better. Telework is looked at as not real work. Leadership acts as if since they can't see you that you aren't writing when productivity actually increased during the pandemic. Facilities are heavily outdated, equipment is faulty and you will be making less than that of someone in the private sector.

      Pros

      Benefits is typical fed government package, up to 5% matching on 401K style plan, considerable time off with sick time paid separately, great health care benefits.

      Cons

      No growth unless you're retired E7 and above (military). No promotions within, leadership doesn't care about employee's, no training and development for civilians, hiring practices are the worst; basically, if you're a normal person's with the degree's and qualifications to hold the position, you will be overlooked because you didn't retired from the military. Management knows who they're going to hire before the announce a job. No real consideration for staffing the right people. It's who you know not what you know. Toxic work environment, more work than employee's, top heavy management.
