Pros

The top reason to work here is the mission statement that NEXCOM has in place. It truly is about the customers. At our store we really value our customers and it shows. The relationships we build with each other as associates. We pretty much become a family and work together to build a better work place. SOME of the managers and supervisors. *New GM seems to be making the correct choices and actually shows he cares about the employees. * Some of the managers will actually work with you if you need time off work or one of your kids gets sick.

Cons

I went through all the feedback that is listed for Navy Exchange on this site and I'm fairly positive that those that wrote "nothing" for the con has to be a lie or was done by higher ups to make it appear "better" than it actually is. 1) The pay sucks. It is minimal at best. Sure you get benefits but you definitely will need more than 1 job if you this is going to be your primary source of income. That is 100% fact. This is why people leave our store and go work for DECA because they start out at a much higher pay. 2) The favoritism. Oh my gosh. The favoritism is horrible. You cannot make it anywhere unless you know and are on good terms with certain managers. 2) Managers and supervisors have a huge, HUGE, problem with reprimanding associations on the floor in front of customers. 3) If they don't like you they will either make your work experience the worse possible to where you snap and get fired or just give up a quit. 4) Communication!! This is a huge issue at our store. There is absolutely no communication at all. Which sets us associates up for failure. 5) Favoritism again. In this case it causes people to quit because they're tired of it. 6) We're overworked and underpaid. We are short staffed which causes people to cover other areas and in turn causes those other areas to not get done properly.

Pros

* Great pay for the kind of work * Early morning hours (3 am to 7:30 am...or sometimes 8:00 am...or 8:30 am...or past 9:00 am) meant that the rest of the day was free

Cons

* High expectations; wouldn't be a problem for people very experienced with this kind of work * Difficult to commit to other jobs because of the demands of this one (even when trying to carefully plan ways for neither to interfere with the other)
