Pros

Employee discount, meeting great vendors, gratis (cosmetic dept. only), NM rewards occasional, coffee in the morning.

Cons

The managers need to be refined and well versed, as it is a luxury store. Most of them do not have the luxury background to be employed there. Associates will go to HR for nonsense that managers should take care of. Career opportunities are limited. Too many married managers work there. Although they work in different departments, it makes it awkward. NM usually under pays their managers. You get what you pay for. Not very much competency.

Pros

Great product Nice discount Above average salary Nice co-workers Nice growth

Cons

As with all companies, the organization is only as good as the leaders that run the business at the store level. I was not fortunate to work for such a manager but, I have met many great leaders at Neiman Marcus and I am certain that my manager is not indicative of Neiman Marcus but rather an evaluation of her.

Pros

Beautiful place to work, smart engaging employees

Cons

Not enough shopping traffic coming into the store to make a decent commission only paycheck.
