Pros

Amazing company, great perks like the discount and rewards. The company makes is very easy for their employees to afford to shop there. My manager was always accommodating and understanding. She was easy to talk to and had great leadership qualities. My co-workers were fun to work with. You are not designated to sell in one single department. You're encouraged to sell outside of your "home" department for the best opportunity for high commission.

Cons

I worked in a small department with, in comparison to the entire store, less expensive items. Therefore less opportunity for higher commissions. Being on base salary plus commission helped, but even then, my checks were sub-par at best. The holidays were longer hours. Not a lot of cons, other than my department, which I could have transferred out of.

Pros

Always up to date with the most current and stylish trends. Fun in-store events. Exposure to incredibly high-end products. Informative morning meetings educate you about new products in every department. Working with brand reps allows you to really be informed about every vendor you work with. Always surrounded by lovely, luxurious things!

Cons

Sales associates are cut throat because they work off of commission. High-end clientele can be difficult. You are only as good as your numbers. A good day in sales makes you a super star. However, a bad day in sales make you a leper. When business is slow it can get very boring. You are forced to cold call people when you don't want to. Working nights, holidays and weekends can get frustrating, but that's what you sign up for when you work retail.
