Great intro to animal care, difficult work environment

Wide variety of animals, tours, activities Great introduction to animal care field Fun events for associates Hours are nice: four 10 hour shifts Trying to get AZA accredited and move away from roadside zoo aspect

Cons

Upper management and guests can be difficult and demanding Facilities are a bit more run down than other but not terrible Favoritism in workplace

Horrible work culture- owner is mental unstable and publicly humiliates staff that she fires. She brought the entire resort into a meeting to talk trash on senior staff she had fired ..made everyone sit through extremely dis tasteful and delusional rants. She praised people in the meeting for missing their son’s first birthday to go pick up ice cream for her and the resort - delusional billionaire ideas of what is important in life- mind you this ice cream was not for a important event - just a run of the mill day. Sickening ideas about work/ life balance.
