Out of date product, out of date leadership

Pros

Hard to find many pros with NetMotion. Existing customer base creates continued busy work, however a lack of need in any “new” products means that there is no additional revenue coming from them. Sales numbers are stagnant, and really unimpressive for a company of this age. For the few people who have stayed (there has been a mass exodus as of late, and many who have stayed are desperate to leave as soon as they can) there is comraderie amongst some, despite the strong “inner circle” of many employees who have a history together from a former employer.

Cons

Flat or declining sales revenue. No product innovation (new “platform” is just a repackaging of old, stale software- zero interest from large customers) Complete lack of leadership in sales... management by fear and belittlement has never been effective.... badmouthing former employees creates a hostile environment. Quarter after quarter, sales only makes their number because one rep “blows it out” or is able to get a large ELA done- smoke in mirrors... there has yet to be a quarter with more than 50% of sales making their number. Sales leadership only cares about 2 or 3 RSM’s, and has no ability to coach train or develop his team. Zero plan for how to help team grow and achieve.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. As a current employee, I encourage you to connect with your Sales leadership or me to discuss your concerns. Because some of our customers span public safety, utilities, and healthcare, we take our support – which can be seen in our NPS scores – and our product roadmap very seriously. Our focus is to deliver solutions that matter, and that make a real impact on current and future customers. By putting our hearts into our work every day, we’re afforded the stability we have now. We’ve also increased revenue quarter over quarter—and just had a record quarter—through the features added to existing products, and our new operational intelligence platform launched in June. In regards to NetMotion hiring from our network, referrals from employees are always appreciated. Some of our success comes from those who are a part of our culture who refer people that can add to it. All of the examples we have regarding our internal promotions speak to our efforts to recruit the right people, train, and coach them up; it’s one of the best aspects about being a part of NetMotion. We’d love the opportunity to speak with you. Please reach out to me or someone on your management team for a conversation. –Christina Balam, Director of HR.

Team-oriented, with lots of upside

Pros

Very team-oriented culture with great people who want to see their peers succeed. Solid software that serves an important purpose, with strong customer loyalty. Lots of upside with market strategy, fueled by broad channel engagement. Everyone internally seems to be pulling together to work through transitions that will make our customers and company successful.

Cons

Sales org changes were a bit tricky at first, but the benefits have become noticeable. Although brand awareness is growing, it's still somewhat weak outside of core verticals.

Pros

Great Culture. I’m a remote employee in sales but still manage to feel connected to my colleagues. I can genuinely say I enjoy the folks I work with. The software itself is top shelf. With over 20 patents no one does what we do how we do it. Over the past 3 years we’ve developed new feature sets and rolled out new products. Innovating and challenging the status quo. I have a high degree of confidence in the product and selling it personally leaves me with a feeling of doing good by our customers. Marketing has raised the bar and done a great job of increasing brand awareness. We are breaking into new verticals which is very exciting to see. Existing customer rolodex is candidly impressive.

Cons

Need to continue to push brand awareness. For being in business since 2001 some industries still haven’t heard of us. Past owners and leadership probably failed here but Carlyle Group and existing CEO and team are doing a fantastic job. Making good headway and the outlook is positive. Quotas tend to be lofty with not as much room for multipliers as I’d like to see.

Lots of Talent but Poor Execution.

Pros

Some of the best software developers you can find. The software is well executed, relatively bug free, and built with security in mind. Great Benefits for a company of this size. Separate vacation time, 401k matching, flex time when needed, and great vacation to start. Fun, family, atmosphere in the Seattle office.

Cons

High quotas that are out of reach for most quarters. High amount of travel required. Very little remote software installations, most require travel onsite,

Brilliant software engineers and great benefits for a company of this size. Folks in QA, Lab and Engineering seem optimistic and generally satisfied with their jobs.

Very low morale throughout Operations (Sales, Finance, Marketing, IT) with unknown future ahead.
