Pros

I started working for Network Rail as a Graduate in September 2013. So fa, it's been an enjoyable experience and I have been placed in friendly and supportive teams. The work is challenging, but in a good way, and everyone is willing to take the time to help. I have been given plenty of opportunities to go to depots and see different parts of the business. The hours are 9-5, and I have rarely stayed past 5.30 (only out of my own accord). I do not regret my decision in accepting this job offer.

Pros

Interesting work, the ability to make a difference, excellent training opportunities, nice re-numeration, sick benefits

Cons

Don't expect to get a discount on leisure travel. Very shallow pyramid on roles template caused by management layers being stripped out means that you may stagnate in the same job because there are not enough layers above you. Going forwards the company is expecting more and more and more from each individual so that you can be spread exceedingly thin.
