Pros

If your working in the main offices, London, Milton Keynes, Birmingham the promotion prospects appear good, working in the regions you are invisible.

Cons

Large process driven prescriptive organisation, don't expect to be able to implement change.

A mix of fantastic people and idiots

Pros

Good benefits, people who are passionate about their job (true railway people), excellent management and leadership training available

Cons

Many Band 2 & 1s (Senior Leaders) are useless. Unfortunately they overshadow the good people. For a company undergoing great Business Change, their Business Change capability remains problematic.

Pros

Very strong and supportive team work ethic. Good training programmes and facilities. Real opportunity to work on very high profile campaigns.

Cons

The negative public perception of company is hard to take on board. Promotion opportunities are very few and far between.
