Pros

none as a on the ground staff. All the perks have gone and what little is left, management are trying to take away from us.

Cons

very unsociable hours, crap working conditions, poor management, bullying from management, low moral in staff. Hope management do see this because I think this is a true comment and about 90% of staff I work with say the same. I've never worked from a company where moral is at its all time low. There is no future on the railways and I can't wait to leave!

Pros

only thing positive is the 75% discount on train season tickets.

Cons

Full of incompetent "managers" with no experience whatsoever. The only reason they get into these positions is through length of service or favouritism. There's so many people in jobs that don't actually have to do any work. All they do is spend their days travelling to meetings and staying at hotels. There's no control over budget and people can travel and stay in hotels at will. The way they squander the taxpayer's money is outrageous! When it comes to trying to move into another role there's so much politics at play. Some poor sod wastes his time preparing and going to an interview, all the while the job has been given to someone else (usually from the same team/department). So many managers are so up themselves it's disgusting and won't give you the time of day. All they're interested in is climbing the career ladder.

Pros

The Quadrant MK office is well designed and one of the best office building around with good range of facilities and easy access to transport network Relaxed setting & working environment and good diversity of employees Relaxed time keeping, arriving late and leaving early is normal work practice for most Staff gym, library and shops on site

Cons

No probations period for new starter, long notice periods so lazy people are there to stay Old guards holding firm to senior roles, set in their ways and very hierarchical Cronyism and favouritism is wide spread, fake recruitment process Fixated with job banding, treatment based on rank in company not knowledge High salary differences between employees in the same role Constant reorganisations ending up as team renaming - with the same people just moving around to continue empire building Performance review results forced to reflect high performing organisation 'curve' Underperformance ignored, no accountability as managers focusing on politics and priority always on yet more reporting HR team ineffective, no visibility in the business and stuck in long-winded systems and processes that takes too long to get results Access to training depends on managers discretions not based on needs of business / role
