Pros

Good benefits such as the 75% discount on a season ticket. Flexible hours and generous holiday allowance.

Cons

As a Band 5 I have found the internal training either poor or non existent leaving new starters to pick up their role and learn through mistakes and devising their own knowledge documentation. The Personal Objectives procedure is flawed and is open to allowing personal relationships between Line Manager and Employee, negative or positive, sway the final results which can have catastrophic consequences on the individuals home life and private finances. The appeal process is very long and drawn out which puts a lot of people off from pursuing.

Pros

Massive focus on Values and Behaviours, care for wellbeing, safety etc, could make this an amazing place to work. It is in many areas and locations, but not all.

Cons

Scared and ineffective middle managers can make life hell in some locations and areas.

Thank you very much for your review. The massive focus on values, behaviours, safety & care for well being are so true. Thank you for all your hard work the past 10 years, we really value our staff. We appreciate that with over 37000 staff nation wide, our inclusive culture will always need to be reinforced in order to reach all parts of the organisation. As you know, we have Diversity & Inclusion champions to support this throughout the organisation from our office staff to our track workers. I'm glad to say we've recently signed our 1000th Diversity & Inclusion champion as champions of all the positive things you mentioned and to help us walk the walk. I would encourage signing up to be a Diversity & Inclusion champion as well. In terms of problem people, we may not always know. I'm not sure if you're aware of this but, we have a speak-out line for employees who feel concerned about behaviours to bring it to light in the organisation. The employee doesn't have to disclose information and this line can be anonymous if the employee so wishes it. Reinold Talent Acquisition Manager
