Pros
Can be a good place to work for hourly folks. Anyone who has spent a career out here in the mines is a millionaire assuming they didn't raid their 401ks along the way. It can be a great way for an average guy or gal to really provide for themselves or their families. 401k match is the best I've had, by far. So-so insurance. Some great coworkers who were fun to work with and had great personalities.
Cons
It appears the management of the new company still hasn't figured things out in the least. The company systems and processes are still a mess and not the least bit coherent. No one seems to have any idea what's going on. There's still a lot of pressure to cut costs to the bone, lay people off, etc. As a result, morale is low, people tend to be bitter and/or totally disengaged, and safety appears to have suffered quite a bit, as well. As you have read in other reviews, Elko is in the middle of nowhere, and the work locations even more so. Other things- company has a bad reputation in the industry, culture of blame and "CYA", company communication, news, etc is a bunch of BS, general cheap and low quality feel to about everything, a lot more "corporate" complete with all of the buzz words, cliches, etc. The real talent must've left long ago...
