Pros

The company seems very progressive and really embracing remote work. The tech is great and there are some very smart and talented people that work here. The space is very interesting and there is lots of room to grow. If you like solving challenging problems and working with big data this is the place for you.

Cons

Lots of people are migrating due to the great resignation, this can be problematic because lots of knowledge is lost, but this can also be an opportunity to grow and improve. Decision making and product direction seem to not be a priority, hopefully this will improve.

Pros

* Smart, driven teammates who are also almost endlessly helpful and nice * Supportive, attentive 1st- & 2nd-level managers who are focused on the team's success * Interesting, difficult engineering problems and a good level of autonomy for teams on how to solve them * Infinite technical learning opportunities and the ability to practice actual computer science * Attention paid to DE&I issues * Healthy compensation and benefits * Business outlook and stock price seem to be on the upswing * New CEO says the right things and the switch leaves behind the agita associated with the prior CEO * Everyone's settled in to the rhythms of remote work, many employees are permanently remote, and I think we do a pretty good job of handling it

Cons

* There are a couple of levels of pager rotations and you'll be on 'em. I don't have kids but I have to imagine this is hard on those with caretaking or other inflexible non-work responsibilities. Co-workers are good about taking over if you need a break and the goal is for fewer teams to participate in the lowest-tier rotation, so this is partially mitigated. * There are a lot of projects ongoing and teams are interdependent, so engineering team members can be pulled in different directions by multiple demands on their time and expertise. Managers and product managers try to keep things under control and we're hiring to spread the load as well as trying to get a better handle on planning.
