      Great co-workers/boss. Very rewarding, would definitely recommend to everyone. Good for POC.

      As it's a place for the public, can have some troubles with difficult patrons.

      Learned a great deal at the NYPL. And my experience was a great springboard into another career.

      Pros

      Surrounded by literature, work is easy and does not require much knowledge to get the job done. Majority of the job is shelving, retrieving items or dealing with patrons at the front desk. It is a good job for students who are attending college.

      Cons

      Sometimes dealing with rude patrons or general public can be a downer. Often there is nothing to do and room for growth is almost non-existent. Supervisors also make the pages do a lot of their own work.
