Pros

- Looks good on a resume. - They hire incredibly smart people, so ego boost - Everyone is incredibly passionate about their work

Cons

- Bullying/Mean Girls culture - Compensation is subpar and benefits very average. It was definitely not good enough to cover the therapy I needed to survive here. - Abusive environment will leave you traumatized and possibly in a mental hospital. - Managers are incompetent, do not set their directs up for success, provide no support and take credit for your work - Meetings on meetings on meetings with no time to get actual work done. - Too many people are required to make simple decisions, which means decisions don't get made and deadlines are frequently missed. - Very little opportunity for career advancement. Working at The New York Times is treated like the top achievement a person can get so there's no need to provide development or career pathing. - Very limited ways of thinking. New ideas are rejected to protect the way things have always been done. - If you're not "Timesian" enough, you will be outcast.

Pros

Good people, engineers, designers. Cool products to work on as well.

Cons

Terrible management/leadership. Heavy politics/bureaucracy really detracts from what could be possible here.
