About every 24 months, Newegg's CEO decides his company isn't doing what he'd like and he gets involved. This is usually with good intentions but without deep understanding of the real issues. When this happens the moles, traitors, liars and cowards...the cockroaches basically, all come out and begin an unscrupulous, corrupt and unethical process of trying to increase their level of power and influence within the organization and unfortunately the CEO is gullible to this tactic.
Eventually, changes are made, power is shifted and then the CEO retires back to silence and the cycle starts anew.
The last cycle occurred not long after a few key executives left the company in the 2011 time frame to competitor companies.
With their leaving, a lot of those remaining lost hope. The CEO promoted a figurehead to run the company, who proceeded to hire some non-qualified, overpriced executives, the cockroach’s smelled opportunity and the Newegg spiral began from which the company may never recover.
Interestingly, the cockroaches don’t just exist hiding in the dark; they now run the place even as performance and reputation seem to decline at exceedingly dangerous levels. Just look at their homepage stuffed with advertising and you can see where this is headed.
