      Inexperienced "Animation" Studio with Unrealistic Expectations

      • Working with lots of talented artists • Competitive pay for entry-level • Nice, expensive office

      Cons

      • Management views staff as disposable and will terminate with little to no warning • Poor communication overall. Management consistently struggled to provide proper feedback and critique for projects. Little to no training for new hires. Little to no education/ career growth for long-term staff. Very unreceptive to feedback • Consistently overworked staff due to mismanagement, inexperience with the animation pipeline, and unrealistic expectations. • Unpaid holidays, where you had to "earn" them by crunching beforehand • Requires all full-time staff to work on-site without providing relocation assistance

      - Talented artists - Consistent pay

      Cons

      - Disrespectful attitude towards employees - lack in communication - expected to work overtime but reprimanded for doing so - process for receiving PTO was unclear - lack of training for new employees - veteran artists under paid - expected employees to be available off the clock or on weekends - management threatened holiday breaks to be taken away - impossible for employees under certain titles to be promoted in any way - management inexperienced in the animation industry - required to move but not compensated to do so - a week turn around with expectation of flawless work - no credit to artists in or in comments of the videos

      - Competitive pay - Good benefits - Fun, collaborative field where you get to create something new everyday - Company goes out of it's way to help employees feel included and appreciated

      Cons

      - YouTube in general requires quick turnaround times which can lead to some crunch. Nothing that isn't found in other jobs of this type however.
