Pros

It is pretty chilled and laid back. Like previous stated. Your challenges isn't with Nexient, it's the Client. Some you love, some you want off project as soon as you finish your project. They have a game room, so you can play table tennis, foosball, and video games. Trust me, you will want to after a bad day with client. The positives depends on manager or clients some are good and some not so great. Between projects you are paid to be benched until they get you a new project. In mean time it is a good time to catch up on things you struggled with

Cons

Not every manager give praise to employees who do amazing work or make sacrifices. These managers need to be proactive, when they are not, it can be a moral defeater. So many good employees who great things but because their managers are focused on work and not praising their team members during Monthly All hands, it can make you feel like your hard work means little. My job performance was meaningless. It was just "good job" or "keep going". They keep suger coating the truth so you "Feel good" and not quit. I left because I didn't get the "truth". Like... "you made good effort in last project, I can see you need to work harder in this area to avoid your struggles" After so many years I could not be at Nexient anymore. I made so many sacrifices, helped out where I can, supported so and so. No honorable mention. While on All hands meeting, people get praised for "motivating team" or small acts. These things are doing your job, not really things you praised. I worked 12 to 16 hours on some days on a client project that didn't like Nexient, but I got a project, that should be set to 6 months. But Business want it done in a month. The client was upset he would fail with his Directors, I talk him about ideas and ways we can do things. had it all done in 3 days. I needed to put in 12 to 16 hours. I got no mention, and no one knows about what I did. But a Director's "favorite" gets praised for doing his job? for being "nice" and getting work on time?. You are suppose to be that way. This is a good company if you are entry level up to mid level. After that you are wasting your time at Nexient. Opportunities for Senior Devs are hit and miss with clients. It's like playing Russian Roulette. Good Clients vs Bad Ones.

Pros

The culture is pretty relaxed, the company is genuinely invested in growing your skill set and marketability as a developer, and working as a contractor has a way of insulating you from the corporate politics and financial woes of your clients.

Cons

Pay and benefits are mediocre. As a result, lot of folks will struggle to be comfortable working here indefinitely.

Pros

Nexient is providing a 34 year veteran a ton of technical growth & freedom. Within my first year, I've gained huge growth in well over a dozen technologies, tools, techniques, and frameworks! After years of stagnation with almost zero growth, Nexient has been such a breath of fresh, clean, invigorating air, I can truly say I really, really enjoy working here.

Cons

401K match is tepid, but promises to grow.
