Pros

Lots of extremely talented employees from all different backgrounds. Flexible work environment. Free snacks and meals for events. Nice open office. Purposeful feeling to try to build a brand within an emerging industry.

Cons

An absolute identity crisis with what the company was trying to accomplish. You have a live sports and entertainment company with only a handful of people who came from that world. You have a dynamite R & D department. And a full fledged feature-film-like post production department. All working cohesively at times, but for the most part, operating independently. An utter lack of transparency from upper management, claiming that they were close to procuring funding to set the company up for the next several years. It ranged from unrealistically positive expectations to downright lies to employees, leaving many unaware that a massive layoff (50+ people) were impending. Oh and those employees were let go via email after a cold and harsh 5-minute companywide meeting. Used a charitable event, packing meals for underprivileged countries, as a cover to cut the snack budget. Ruthless.
