      Pros

      - interesting product features - rocketship - technical projects and challenges - growth. (I was promoted twice in my time)

      Cons

      - some pillar heads have no startup experience. They are learning on the job and very slowly. Be patient if you are on their pillars. - Lifers at Nextdoor can get away with anything. - No accountability from engineers reporting to Heads of Engineering.

      Pros

      The company "walks the walk" when it comes to its core values. I've worked at larger tech companies until now and this is the first time I truly sleep well at night knowing I'm doing good work at a company that's doing good work for the world.

      Cons

      My salary is less than I would have accepted elsewhere. I was offered less than what I said would be the "minimum I'd accept" during interviews. Apparently, I was bluffing, because here I am. Perhaps if I'd been a man I would have had the confidence to push back more...

      Pros

      I've worked at Nextdoor for a few years and am so grateful to have found such a wonderful team. Nextdoor has an excellent culture that promotes lifelong learning and developing one's career. The benefits are amazing (free PPO healthcare, 401K matching, wellness stipend) and the pay is very fair for San Francisco. I would recommend working at Nextdoor to any of my friends and family. I also appreciate that Nextdoor has been very responsible during COVID and has allowed us to WFH since March 2019. Employee welfare is a top priority.

      Cons

      The office location felt a bit unsafe, but luckily we are transitioning to a new office.
