Pros

-they work with you when life happens -easy upward mobility -incentivize furthering education of technicians -ability to transfer within the company nationwide if you move -management cares about your safety -management is fair -ability to travel to other offices when work is slow if you want

Cons

-work / life balance (all trade jobs have this issue) -hours aren't steady (neither is the frequency of machine failure)
